Workshops Schedule
All  workshop classes will be 'hands-on' and personally conducted by Riza, founder and owner of SugarlyNice.

Riza is a certified Graduate of BITC (Baking Industry Training Centre, Singapore) and an alumni of the prestigious Wilton School of Cake Decorating from Woodridge, Illinois.

Riza recently completed the Wilton Master Class Diploma in Cake Decorating, and additionally earned four other specialist Diplomas in Gumpaste Flowers, Fondant Modelling, Sugar Artistry and Isomalt (Dehydrated sugar).

All techniques will be demonstrated at a comfortable pace and systematically. Every student will be given the opportunity to prepare their own creation under Riza's close supervision.

Sugarpaste Flowers

·Sugarpaste preparation, leaves, rose base, daisy center
·Rosebuds and roses, finish daisy
·Orchids, stephanotis, calla lily
·Highlighting, assemble orchid, complete calla lily


Students will learn to create an array of popular bridal flowers to enhance wedding cakes. Focal, secondary and filler flowers will be covered, along with assorted foilage. Students will create peony, carnations, gerbera daisy, hydrangea, bear grass and foliage. When appropriate, buds and leaves will be included.

·Finish, color and assemble completed projects        
Everything Roses (Piped Icing)                   Fee : S$150           1 day x 5hr
Learn to make roses, half roses, rosebuds, primroses, and wild roses, plus a large full-size decorative rose. For beginner or to refresh your existing skills.
This course teaches basic techniques to design and decorate party cakes and ultimately, a fully decorated display wedding cake.
Royal Icing Intensive Piping Techniques                      
Students perform all decorating under close supervision and learn to make 17 flowers and 20 different borders.

Star tip decorating techniques. Curving lines, vines, stems and leaves.
Shell and Reverse Shell, Stringwork, Crown Border, Zig zag and Ruffled Garland.
Embellished Borders,  Chandelier and Reverse Chandelier.
Drop flowers, sweet peas and rosebuds.
Carnations, 1/2 Carnations, Rose, Half Rose, Primrose and Victorian Rose.
Easter Lily, Petunia, Wild Rose, Daisy, Daffodil,Pansy, Mum, Bachelor Button.
                                               
Demo on coloring techniques and wiring of flowers

Apply borders and flowers learned to decorate a sample display cake.

Participants will decorate and take home 1pc real cake.
Equipment and tools will be shared among participants.
However, participants are welcomed to bring their own for convenience.

10.00 - 10.30 - technique on how to make Sugarpaste (for flowers)

10.30 - 11.30 - making of flowers ie. Roses & leaves

11.30 - 12.00 - technique on how to make Fondant for cake covering

12.00 - 13.00 - covering cake with Fondant and variations on                    
                        decorating the covered cake with fondant and
                        sugarflowers





Intermediate Workshop - Cake Decoration
(For participants who had gone through the Basic Workshop)

Participants will decorate and take home 2nos. real cakes.
Equipment and tools will be shared among participants
.
However, participants are welcomed to bring their own for convenience.

10.00 - 11.00 - drawing technique on Sugarplaque with Royal Icing

11.00 - 13.00 - making sugarpaste flowers, ie carnation, daisies,  
                        sweetpeas

13.00 - 14.00 - Tricks and Secrets on how to stack up tier cakes

14.00 - 15.00 - variations on cake decoration using Royal Icing 
                      -  beads around cake (snailtrail)
                      -  hanging lacework
                      -  border designs
